Regionalism and Rising Powers

This project will examine the role of emerging powers of the world in reshaping regional cooperation and institutions-building and assess its implications for the future of regionalism and global order. The initial step of this project will look at the emerging powers of Asia, China, India, Japan, Indonesia, and South Korea. This phase of the project will be undertaken in cooperation with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and TRANSCEND members: Chula Global Network (CGN) of Chulalongkorn University, Thailand, and the German Institute of Global and Area Studies, (GIGA), Hamburg, Germany.
